Binance Adds Options on 1,000 US Stocks and ETFs

Binance is adding options on more than 1,000 American stocks and exchange-traded funds, offered through its Abu Dhabi-regulated broker Nest Trading. Orders route to Alpaca Securities for execution, clearing, and custody, with the products unavailable to US users.

The contracts settle physically, meaning holders receive or deliver actual shares upon exercise rather than cash. Retail traders eligible for options can buy calls and puts with losses capped at the premium paid, and more listings are expected over time.

Traditional finance perpetual volume on the venue hit roughly $433.4 billion in August, about fifteen times January's $29.5 billion. Equity-linked contracts drove 79% of that, generating $342.9 billion against just $410.9 million eight months earlier.

The launch builds on a June rollout covering 7,000 listed securities for customers outside America, alongside bStocks tokenized shares. Head of Exchange Shunyet Jan called stock options an important step toward a fuller multi-asset platform accessible from one Binance account.

Kraken Parent to Tokenize 100 London-Listed Stocks

Payward will tokenize the 100 largest companies on the London Stock Exchange as xStocks, arriving within weeks across Kraken and allied platforms. The one-to-one backed tokens reach investors in more than 110 countries, though not those based in Britain.

Subject to approval, the exchange plans to support trading on LSE 24, its extended-hours venue running from 5 p.m. to 7:50 a.m. The pair will also explore native equity tokens carrying identical rights to traditional shares, deepening Kraken's $40 billion xStocks franchise.

Cronos Halts Entire Chain After $75 Million Exploit

Cronos switched off its whole blockchain to contain an attack on Tectonic, the network's largest lending protocol, freezing every position in the process. Researchers described a pump-and-borrow manipulation that spiked the TONIC token a hundredfold within twenty minutes.

The protocol had assigned its own governance token a 20% collateral factor despite thin liquidity, letting the attacker borrow against an unsupportable valuation. Only $6 million reached Ethereum before the halt, while Cryptocom said its exchange and app were unaffected.

OpenSea Adds Solana NFT Trading After Four Years

OpenSea added support for Solana collectibles, more than four years after an abandoned beta covering just 165 collections. The chain becomes its first non-EVM network for NFT trading, joining Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, and others.

Supported collections include Claynosaurz, Mad Lads, and Collector Crypt, arriving as monthly marketplace volumes sit at a few hundred million against billions in 2021. Rivals including Nifty Gateway and Kraken NFT have shut down, leaving survivors like Blur to consolidate what remains.

Data of the Day

Robinhood Chain recorded $989 million in single-day DEX volume, a record, with total value locked hitting $708 million after nearly doubling month over month. Stablecoin supply climbed 47% to roughly $770 million across the network.

The composition shifted too, with utility and infrastructure tokens displacing July's memecoin frenzy. Launchpad PONS grew from $20 million to over $200 million, while memecoins paired against tokenized stocks now drive roughly a quarter of stock-linked volume.
